The Mountain Cabins on the Bluff of 2,753-foot Mount Magazine
Overnight facilities at Mount Magazine State Park include 13 park cabins that stretch along the bluff near The Lodge at Mount Magazine. Choose from five 873-square-foot one-bedroom designs, seven 1,317-square-foot two-bedroom designs, and one 1,669-square-foot, three-bedroom design.
Emulating the rustic architectural style made popular in the 1930s, these modern mountain cabins rest on native stone foundations and feature wood-clad exteriors with exposed wood beams. The interior features wood tongue and groove paneling. Each cabin includes a fully-equipped kitchen, clothes washer and dryer, fireplace, a bathroom for each bedroom, and wrap-around covered decks with outdoor hot tubs facing the view from the bluff.
Pets are not permitted in the park cabins except for cabin #4, the park's designated "dog-friendly" cabin. Request this one-bedroom cabin when making your reservation. NOTE: This is the only "dog-friendly" facility in the park. Service animals, however, are welcome in all 13 of Mount Magazine State Park's cabins as well as the park's other facilities.
Like the park lodge, these cabins offer breathtaking views of the Petit Jean River Valley and distant Blue Mountain Lake.
